Considerable Crop Damage in Hokkaido Island due to Typhoon Lionrock

Typhoon Lionrock damages Northern Japan

Many of our Japanese customers have informed us that the passing of Typhoon Lionrock thru the Northern part of Japan last week left vast areas of agricultural land flooded. Hokkaido is one of the main agricultural areas in Japan and the damaged caused by Thyphoon Lionrock will generate shortages in supply of several agricultural products grown in the area, e.g., Sweet Corn.

NHK reported that in the Island of Hokkaido, at least two rivers broke through their banks and at least 11 people have been found dead as a result of the passing of Typhoon Lionrock last Wednesday, August 30th.
